write/
Rich when you want it. Source when you need it.
Edit Markdown visually, inspect exact syntax, open regular text and code files, and keep up to four independent panes.
Open a folder and write. Denote gives ordinary Markdown files a focused rich editor, local search, panes, history, and optional encryption without moving them into a hosted service or proprietary format.
No account. No telemetry. No required cloud storage.
Files first. The selected folder stays the source of truth.
Writing central. Rich Markdown and exact source are one shortcut apart.
Recovery routine. Autosave, revisions, Trash, and conflict checks are built in.

find/
Find note contents, filenames, paths, tags, bookmarks, and recent work locally. Follow relative links without giving up portable files.
recover/
Denote keeps recent revisions, moves deletions to Denote Trash, and refuses to overwrite an edit made by another application.
protect/
Optional vault encryption protects file and revision contents with a password and one-time recovery codes. Paths remain visible.
Plugins are disabled by default, installed only after review, and removed from disk when disabled. Denote never executes plugin archives from this website.
Review changes, stage, commit, work with branches and remotes, and recover interrupted operations through a host-controlled Git boundary.
Search Unicode locally, insert from the Markdown toolbar, and use explicit shortcode suggestions without sending typing to a service.
